Part of a series of portraits of the pattern of wrinkles on the back of my hand.

water-embossed paper  11” x 14”  2005

The water used to create the grooves that warp and curl the paper plane only acted for a brief moment, leaving my personal topography as it evaporated.

Vellum paper used to be made from animal skin. This series takes this material back to its origins, allowing it to age.
